Course Modules & Descriptions
Module 1: Guitar Basics & Foundations
An introduction to guitar types and parts, proper sitting posture, and essential hand placement techniques. This foundation ensures safe, effective practice from day one.
Module 2: Hand Technique & Picking
Focus on right- and left-hand discipline, developing fluid coordination through alternative picking and targeted hand exercises.
Module 3: Scales & Triads
Learn how to construct major scales, and understand open and barre triads. Build a solid understanding of intervals within musical context.
Module 4: Tuning & Octaves
Master standard guitar tuning and octave usage to improve pitch accuracy and tonal awareness.
Module 5: Diads & Triads Applied
Explore diads and triads in practice, solidifying knowledge of chords and foundational harmonic structures.
Module 6: Expressive Techniques
Dive into expressive guitar techniques—bending, sliding vibrato*, hammer-ons, pull-offs*, and chromatics*—to add nuance and character to your playing.
Module 7: Playing in Tempo
Combine techniques with timing, practicing major scales (ascending and descending) in tempo* for rhythmic precision.
Module 8: Advanced Scale Application
Tackle the major scale in double octaves, focusing on three notes per string across all six strings using strict alternate picking*—enhancing speed, accuracy, and physical coordination.
