A New Era for Christian Theater in Pakistan

In 2022, Pakistan witnessed something rare — a Christian theater production presented with the same professionalism, artistry, and stagecraft as mainstream theater. Journey to Salvation debuted that year under the direction of Nigel Bobby, a National Academy of Performing Arts graduate, whose vision was to place Christian storytelling on par with the finest theatrical experiences anywhere in the world.

This wasn’t a church hall skit or a simple dramatization. This was theater — lighting, costumes, sound, set design, and ambiance all meticulously planned to immerse the audience in the greatest story ever told: the life, ministry, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Scripture at the Center

The production’s script, compiled by Shahzad Raaz and proofread by Fr. Benjamin Shahzad, uses only Bible verses. This intentional choice ensures that every word spoken on stage carries the eternal truth of God’s Word, while the music, choreography, and visuals bring those verses vividly to life.
